Southern Star InvitationalBand Festival & Competition 

Thank you for your interest in participating in what has become one of the premier marching band events in the Southeast.

The Southern Star Invitational has been designed to provide not only the marching bands but also their directors and instructors with an enjoyable and memorable experience.

StarGuides

Both adults and students starguides will be assigned to accompany each band from their arrival through their post-performance seating. StarGuides will know the schedule and logistical plan for their band and will be equipped with wireless communications to answer any questions or resolve any problems immediately with the show coordinator.

Hospitality

Catered private rooms will be available for band directors and instructors throughout the show.

Press Box 

Directors and instructors will have access to their own rooms in the press box, separate from the judges, with exclusive elevator service.

Feedback

Directors and instructors will have the opportunity to personally discuss their band’s show and performance with the judges, leaders in the marching arts, in an informal and casual setting.

Registration

Register early to reserve your band’s place in this year’s Southern Star Invitational, Excellence in Education, Entertainment, and Competition. Complete the online Registration Form.

Once the registration form is received, we will contact the director by e-mail or telephone to confirm the registration. Then a registration package will be sent with more detailed information.

All registrations and fees are due by September 23, 2011. Registrations received after this date will be accepted based on space availability.

All performing artists, directors, and staff members will receive complementary passes. Chaperones and bus drivers will also receive complimentary passes up to the GMEA ratio of 1 pass for every 10 performing artists.
