Southern Star InvitationalBand Festival & Competition 

South Gwinnett High School has a large and impressive stadium. The press box has five separate rooms as well as roof access and provides a great performance view, standing 60 feet above the field level. Elevator service to the press box is available exclusively for directors and instructors. The field is Bermuda grass providing a smooth and level performing surface.

The unloading and staging areas, as well as the warm-up fields, are conveniently located and planned for easy access.

We encourage and provide opportunities for college and university music departments from around the southeast to set up displays for students to explore opportunities to continue and expand their marching band experience. Exhibits and recruiters may be on hand from several major DCI drum and bugle corps. 

Make sure to allow time for your students and parents to explore these exhibits and displays!

Water stations will be located by the warm-up fields and around the stadium. First Aid Stations will be located on-site to assist in medical situation.

Both adult and student StarGuides are assigned to stay with each band from their arrival through their post-performance seating. Equipped with wireless communications, these StarGuides will stay informed of the logistical plans and can quickly answer any questions or resolve any problems. A show coordinator will be available at all times to manage the show.
